How to Apply and Remove Acrylic Nails
Removing Acrylic Nails
Start by removing the old polish with an acetone-free polish remover. Then, file down the surface of the acrylic nail to create a rough surface. Apply a cotton ball soaked in acetone to the nail and wrap with aluminum foil. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then use an orange stick or cuticle pusher to gently scrape off the softened acrylic.
Applying Acrylic Nails
Prep your nails by filing them to your desired shape and length. Buff the surface of the nails to create a rough surface. Apply a thin layer of nail primer and let it dry. Apply a small amount of acrylic liquid to the brush and dip it into the acrylic powder. Apply the mixture to the nail and shape it with the brush. Soak the brush in monomer and pat it on the bead to smooth it. Repeat the process until the desired thickness is achieved. Allow the nails to dry completely. You can then file and buff your nails to achieve your desired shape and shine.
